PLATINUM HAS SUPPLIED PLANT & EQUIPMENT TO SOME OF PERTH'S MOST ICONIC INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS
Platinum enjoys long-term relationships with many key clients based on our reliability and quality of service. We are a preferred supplier to companies including Civcon Civil & Project Management, MME Underground Services, and Excedo Group.
Items we have provided to these companies include trucks, excavators, directional drilling equipment, trailers, compressors, bobcats, generators, light vehicles, small tools and equipment, transportation services, and labour.
Through our client relationships, our equipment and our people have been part of several high-profile projects delivered within the Perth Metropolitan Region. These have included:
Perth CIty Link Stages 2B and 1A
Platinum were engaged to provide plant, equipment, and labour required to upgrade Western Power services along Wellington Street in the Perth CBD, to cater for future power demands of the Perth City Link Redevelopment. The project was successfully delivered with zero LTIs and zero complaints from stakeholders, despite significant challenges presented by pedestrian and traffic management and the close proximity to the operational Perth Arena.
Elizabeth Quay Redevelopment
The landmark Elizabeth Quay Redevelopment project aimed to create a waterfront precinct to bring the Perth City and the Swan River together again. Platinum supplied plant and equipment to complete service installation works and to construct parks, promenades, and an island with a connecting bridge. The works were completed under the watchful eye of over 15,000 people in the surrounding offices and buildings overlooking the site, meaning quality control, safety performance and stakeholder engagement were of the utmost importance.
Curtin University Main Street
This project was the first to be delivered as part of Curtin University of Technology’s ‘Greater Curtin Master Plan’ and aimed to provide an attractive, landscaped environment with priority given to bicycles and pedestrians. Platinum was contracted to provide plant, equipment and labour required to construct the new Main Street through Curtin University’s Bentley campus, from Hayman Road to Kent Street. Associated works included; demolition works, bulk earthworks and finished earthworks, installation of underground service infrastructure, high quality landscaping and paving, and installation of signage and lighting.
This three year contract for ATCO Gas Australia involves the construction of new gas mains, replacement mains, new service installations and other associated maintenance activities within the Perth Metropolitan Region. The project requires regular hire of specialised equipment, such as poly welders and ground penetrating radars, as well as labour and various items of machinery.
CAST IRON PIPE REPLACEMENT - CAMBRIDGE
This project was part of a greater water pipe replacement project undertaken by the Water Corporation. The works involved replacement of old cast iron water pipes with DN250 pipe along a 2.5KM stretch of Cambridge Street in Wembley. Platinum supplied the project with labour and various items of machinery, including directional drilling equipment as 80% of the works required completion via trenchless technologies. The project location meant significant stakeholder engagement was required in order to complete works with minimal disruption to surrounding businesses and residences.
KING STREET ROAD AND UTILITIES UPGRADE
The King Street Road and Utilities Upgrade project involved extending King Street from Perth City into Northbridge as part of the Perth City Link project, which aims to reconnect Perth CBD with Northbridge. The overall project will create a new urban precinct to deliver a range of world-class residential, commercial, retail and tourism facilities. Platinum has provided labour and various items of plant and equipment to complete earthworks, pavement works, service installations, granite kerbing and pavement construction, pre-cast concrete wall installation, roadworks and landscaping works.
WATERBANK INFRASTRUCTURE AND PUBLIC DOMAIN
The Waterbank development site is located adjacent to the Swan River and, once complete, will transform the eastern gateway into Perth City with provision for multi-story residential and commercial buildings and associated infrastructure. Platinum provided labour, plant and equipment required to stabilise the reclaimed land near the river’s edge and install underground services to prepare the site for future development.
