HOME / THE FLEET / ROLLERS

Roller hire.

Four Hamm compaction rollers, 2 tonne twin drum through to a 12 tonne smooth drum, wet or dry, across Perth and regional WA. Trenches, footpaths, pads, car parks and bulk earthworks, maintained in-house by our own mechanics.

4 ROLLERS · 2T TO 12T

The roller fleet.

All Hamm, three weights, covering trench backfill at one end and bulk earthworks at the other.

Which roller for which layer?

Compaction is about hitting target density in the fewest passes. That is a match between the machine, the material and the layer depth.

Twin drum for trenches and finished work.

Two drums and a small footprint, with enough weight for trench backfill, footpaths and kerb work. It gets in along a service trench and up against an edge without damaging what is already built next to it. This is the one most crews want for confined work and finishing passes.

HC70 for pads, car parks and access roads.

The middle of the range. Enough weight to get real density into a subbase on a pad or a car park, without being so heavy that you cannot move it around a constrained site or work near existing structures.

12 tonne for bulk earthworks.

Heavy smooth drum for subgrade and bulk fill in layers, on open ground where you need density and you need it at rate. This is the one that keeps a big earthworks program moving.

Weight is not the only thing that matters.

A heavier roller is not automatically the right roller. Material type and layer depth decide how many passes it takes to hit spec, and the wrong machine either wastes passes or over-compacts. Tell us the material, the layer depth and the spec you are working to when you enquire, and we will tell you which of the three to take.

Roller hire questions.

The things people ask before they book.

Wet or dry hire?

Both. Wet hire includes one of our licensed operators. Dry hire is the machine only, floated to site, and your operator needs to be competent on the class and able to show evidence of it, which on most sites means a verification of competency.

Which one do I need for trench backfill?

The 2 tonne twin drum. It has the footprint to work along a trench line and against a kerb or a footpath edge, and enough weight for the layer depths that go into most service trenches.

Do you float it to site?

Yes. Float and travel are quoted per job, so give us the site address when you enquire and the number you get back is the number you pay.

How far out of Perth will you go?

Perth metro as standard and regional WA on request. Tell us where the job is and we will price the travel into the quote rather than adding it afterwards.

Need compaction on site?

Tell us the material, the layer depth and the dates. You will get a complete quote back, usually the same day.
